A college student taking in the world around her. Becoming the person I want to be and offering advice, my experiences, and random thoughts with those who are interested. ~Started December 3rd, 2018~
It’s already June and the weather is starting to get warmer and sunnier! One of my favorite parts of this time of year is how light it stays out at night. It makes the days feel long and productive.
Reflecting on May, I’ve been working out quite a bit but not getting around to posting my progress every week. I think it’s almost been a whole month since I last posted – eek! That is hopefully going to change this month. While I write the posts each week, actually posting them is becoming a challenge for some reason. This is my main goal for June: post each week instead of bulk uploading.
Some other goals I have for this month are: to do more yoga, minimize snacking, and try to get outside to workout while the weather is nice.
I’ve recently started getting back into yoga and a bit of meditation. I find this really helpful when unwinding from a busy day at work or even something to do when I’m bored at home. It’s a really good outlet for me and I enjoy pushing my body deeper into stretches and poses. I’m excited to see the progress I can make this June on the yoga front!
It’s May! Just like that, another month done. I’m starting off May falling behind on only taking 2 rest days a week. With our trip to San Diego the first week of this month I ended up taking quite a few. But it was totally worth it. To unplug, relax, eat good food, and enjoy the sun felt so good!
I am excited to get back into a workout routine and continue to find new plant based recipes. This is a short entry this month, but I am happy with where I am at, the goals I am working towards, and the progress I have already made.
I got my second Covid shot yesterday and my body feels pretty run down and sore. Went to do my 30 min workout and only made it about 10 minutes in before calling it quits and resting.
Had to do a quick workout tonight with getting off work a bit late and heading to a Mariners game to kick off our vacation!
May 5th- Rest
It’s travel day! And the first day of vacay. We are heading to San Diego for the rest of this week and unplugging from work. Excited to get some sun and downtime. I clocked 7.2 miles of walking today – about 15,500 steps.
May 6th- Rest
I clocked about 10.3 miles of walking today!
May 7th- Rest
Got 10.5 miles of walking in today.
May 8th- Rest
May 9th- 40 min full body workout
It’s been a minute since I’ve worked out! With being on vacation we did a lot of walking but I didn’t do any other type of workout. It felt good to move and use some muscles other than my legs!
I got my vaccine today and my arm is pretty sore. Decided to stretch it out with some yoga! I love having the option to workout at a slower pace and really focus on how my body is feeling.
April 14th- 2.8 miles Ballard Bridge run
With my arm still being sore, I decided to go for a run than try to lift weights. I tired out a new route across the Ballard bridge and a quick stop at the Fisherman’s Terminal. Who knew the Ballard bridge was so long when running it! It was beautiful out, so I spent a little extra time at the terminal soaking up the sun.
April 15th- 40 min fully body workout
April 16th- Rest
April 17th- Rest
April 18th- 3.2 mile Ballard run
It was so nice out today! Instead of hopping on the bike for a cardio workout, I decided to get outside, soak up the sun, and go for a run! My run wasn’t based on speed, but rather listening to my body and getting to enjoy being outside. It felt so good to get outside.
